In limit holdem, bets and raises during the first two rounds of betting the pre-flop and flop must be equal to the big blind; this amount is called the small bet. In the next two rounds of betting the turn and the river, bets and raises must be equal to twice the big blind; this amount is called the big bet.
Here we will discuss how limit Texas holdem is played. Before the game starts, betting limits are established for the game. The highest bet is twice the size of the minimum bet. Player to the left of the dealer put up the small blind, the bet which is approximately one half of the minimum bet. On the other hand, the player to left of small blind posts the “big blind” which is equal to the minimum bet.
Now two cards will be dealt to each player face down. Then a betting round begins with the first player to the left of the big blind. Players may call, raise or fold. Bets must follow the game’s minimum bet agreed. The first three cards are dealt or flopped face up in the middle of the table. These are three of the five community cards used by all players. Then a second betting round takes place starting with the first active player to the left of the dealer.
The fourth community card is dealt face up, this is called the turn. After that a third betting round takes place. The fifth community card (the river) is dealt face up and after that comes the final betting round. The final part is the showdown, where the remaining players compare hands to determine the winner.
